IgE-Mediated Reaction to Metamizole: Evaluation of a Patient with Severe Anaphylaxis.
نویسندگان
چکیده
Metamizole, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with weak anti-inflammatory and spasmolytic effects, is used as an analgesic and antipyretic agent. Many adverse reactions to metamizole, such as early or late-onset systemic reactions and bone marrow suppression, have been identified. In this report, we present a case of systemic reaction after the application of parenteral metamizole (Novalgin(®) ampoule; Sanofi Aventis, İstanbul, Turkey) and discuss the mechanism underlying the reaction.

Clinical development methodology for infusion-related reactions with monoclonal antibodies
Infusion-related reactions (IRRs) are common with monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and timely related to drug administration and have been reported as anaphylaxis, anaphylactoid reactions and cytokine release syndrome, among other terms used. We address risk management measures for individual patients and for the study and propose a consistent reporting approach in an attempt to allow cross-molecul...
متن کاملAnaphylaxis to TDaP Vaccine in an Infant with IgE Mediated Cow’s Milk Allergy
Food allergy is an increasing health problem world-wide. CMA is one of the most common food allergies during childhood. Certain vaccines such as TDaP may contain milk protein residues that have been associated to severe allergic reactions among patients with proven IgE mediated CMA and receiving booster vaccination. We present an infant with IgE mediated CMA who presented anaphylaxis when recei...
متن کاملPyrazolones metabolites are relevant for identifying selective anaphylaxis to metamizole.
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are the most common cause of hypersensitivity reactions, with pyrazolones the most frequent drugs inducing selective reactions. Immediate selective hypersensitivity to pyrazolones is thought to be mediated by specific-IgE. Sensitivity of in vitro diagnostic tests is low and this may be due to the incomplete characterization of the structures involv...
متن کاملPERSONAL PRACTICE Management of anaphylactic reactions to food
A 12 year old boy with eczema, asthma, and severe intolerance to cows' milk protein ate a small amount of food which contained casein. He developed a severe anaphylactic reaction, and within minutes he was dead.' After recent publicity of similar cases in the press, this is a scenario now greatly feared by parents of children with food intolerance. This article addresses two controversial issue...
متن کاملWheat-Induced Anaphylaxis in Korean Adults: A Report of 6 Cases
Wheat is a common cause of food allergy. Wheat-induced anaphylaxis (WIA) and wheat-dependent exercise induced anaphylaxis (WDEIA) are severe forms of immunoglobulin E (IgE) mediated allergic reaction to wheat protein. As the diagnosis of WIA or WDEIA is not easy because of the risk of oral challenge, identification of specific IgE of various wheat proteins is helpful for diagnosis. In Korea, th...
